Cancer Fighting Juice Recipes

by Natalie

This is a follow-up to a post I wrote earlier titled, “Should I Start Juicing”? In that post, I discussed the pros and cons of juicing, and helped you determine if you should start adding fresh juice to your diet.

I also revealed to you my personal thoughts on juicing. Below you will find two of my favorite juice recipes. The recipes are not exact. I usually just throw in what I have around, but I do follow a general template. *Note – you must have a juicing machine to make these fabulous concoctions!

**to maximize the cancer fighting potential of these recipes, please use organic produce.

Basic Green Juice

Leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables are some of the most important breast cancer fighting foods. This recipe includes both!

makes about 2 cups

What you need:

  • ½ head romaine lettuce
  • a few large handfuls of kale or swiss chard
  • ½ small cucumber or ¼ large cucumber
  • 1 green apple cored or 1 pear cored or 2 kiwis or a large chunk of pineapple
  • ½ lemon peeled
  • 1” piece of fresh ginger peeled
  • leftover broccoli stalks, peeled (I only put this in when I have them)

Instructions: Process in your juicer!

Ruby Red Juice

This juice recipe is high in beta-carotene, a phytochemical especially important for breast cancer prevention.

makes about 2 cups

What you need:

  • 2 beets peeled
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 lemon peeled
  • 1 ruby red grapefruit peeled (could also try an orange here if you can’t have grapefruit)
  • 1″ piece ginger peeled

Instructions: Process in your juicer!

What is your favorite juice recipe? I am always looking for new combinations, please share if you have a good one! Leave your response in the comments box below.
