Detox Salad + an Exciting Announcement

Is anyone else out there obsessed with the “Detox Salad” from Whole Foods?

I crave this salad all the time! I think I could take down one of their large containers all by myself. Since I love this salad so much, I recently tried to re-create it at home. Luckily, Whole Foods lists the ingredients on the name label.

The end result was pretty good, but not great. It just wasn’t the same, and that’s why I am not including the recipe in this post. I still want to play around with the ingredients a bit before I share the recipe.

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to take a stab at it, here are the ingredients: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sunflower seeds, currants, parsley, lemon juice, raisins, kelp granules, salt, and pepper. Quite the line-up of ingredients, eh? Definitely a cancer fighting salad!

Anyways, next time you are at WF, give the detox salad a try. I think you will love it! Super healthy and tastes great. What more can you ask for?

So now on to my exciting announcement! As you may have noticed, things have been  sort of slow on the blog over the past few months. There have been 2 reasons for this:

1) Halle. My sweet little girl. Who knew a baby takes up so much time?! Motherhood has been such a fun adventure but I am still trying to figure out how to balance everything.

2)  I have been working on a project that I promise to give details about in an upcoming post! I am just working out the kinks and putting in a few final touches. I am really excited about it, and hope you will be too! As everything unfolds, I will be sure to keep you in the loop. Stay tuned.

Turkish baked salmon (I love Turkish cooking! This one is so fast and super tasty.)

Crockpot Turkey Chili (I omitted the tomato paste and used 1 can of diced tomatoes instead, and I did not use the coconut milk. I also browned the turkey before putting into the slow cooker for more flavor).

I am all about quick, healthy meals these days!

Many thanks for giving link to my Baked Salmon with vegetables recipe- Turkish cuisine is indeed healthy, delicious and so easy to make! We use lot of grains, olive oil, seasonal produce, packed with goodness. It is good to know that we don’t need to sacricife taste for being healthy. Loved your blog and your articles, and Halle is a cutie : ) I have 2 small children, and I find Turkish cooking is really family friendly as you can prep ahead of time and freeze meals, I hope you find the recipes useful for your family 🙂 best wishes, Ozlem
